Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a key member of the Systems Team within Vertex’s Patient Support Unit, which supports patients and healthcare providers (HCPs) throughout complex Cell and Gene Therapy treatment journeys. This role is primarily operational, ensuring healthcare providers are correctly onboarded and configured across all digital systems supporting the patient pathway.

A secondary, but critical, component is supporting software product owners with the ongoing evolution of these systems, ensuring they meet GxP, compliance requirements throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

The ideal candidate is highly detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with sensitive data in regulated environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

Authorized Treatment Center (ATC) & User Onboarding

  • Serve as the lead SME and internal point of contact for onboarding ATCs and users into digital systems supporting US and Canadian treatment journeys.
  • Collaborate with ATC engagement leads, Quality, and field teams to ensure ATC data is collected and accurately entered into Veeva CRM.
  • Maintain Veeva CRM account setup, hierarchy configuration, and data flows between Veeva and dependent systems.
  • Partner with system administrators and product owners for Salesforce, Veeva, Oracle, ServiceNow, SailPoint, and Informatica.
  • Align onboarding processes with international counterparts to ensure global consistency.
  • Maintain GxP Work Instructions and Change Controls related to ATC and user onboarding.

Business Process & System Analysis

  • Perform deep‑dive analysis of system edge cases and document findings for product and engineering teams.
  • Create and maintain process documentation to support system accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for releases, enhancements, and system changes.
  • Validate data integrations and synchronization across interconnected platforms.
  • Identify and implement improvements to workflows, documentation, and operational processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of GxP and compliance‑driven workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with data analysis, validation, or system operations.
  • Understanding of data management processes and multi‑system environments.
  • Ability to work with sensitive data (PII/PHI) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with JIRA or similar tools.

Preferred

  • Experience with Veeva CRM or other CRM/account management platforms.
  • Understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.
  • Exposure to the Canadian market (approx. 5% of workload).

Contract Length: 12 month with chance to extend.

Pay Range

$65 -70/hr.

Shift/Hours

Monday - Friday. Remote, must work EST hours.
