Research Associate (Contract)

The Analytical Development -Testing, Operations and Automation team (AD- TOA) within Biopharmaceutical Science, manufacturing and operations -CGT CMC is seeking an individual for 6 months contract who is able to:

• Work on a Wednesday to Sunday schedule and flexible to work in both locations of Vertex buildings within 1.5-mile distance when required.
• Flexible to work with different schedules when required and different teams when needed.
• Carry out routine manual or automated separation-based testing (LC & LCMS) in support of process development.
• Actively involve in execution of study sampling plan and sample preparation workflow (dissociation and fixation of cells for flow cytometry) to support process development and characterization.
• Be a strong team player contributing to group priorities and deliverables with great communication skills.
• Maintain excellent written documentation of completed experiment (ELN, LIMS) and maintain knowledge share systems (MS-Teams and share points).
• Ability to follow and understand SOPs and review protocols or reports as needed.
• Manage and track inventory for sample and reagents as needed for several projects.
• Participate in a data management activity to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education level and/or relevant experience

Required:
BS or MS in Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with BS 2+ years experience or MS with 1+ years experience.

Preferred:
Relevant industry experience in the biologics or cell and gene therapy space.

Knowledge and skills

Required:

• Has good experience with flow cytometry technique and other cellular based
• Possesses excellent pipetting skills.
• Possess standard lab safety regulations and work in GLP like laboratory environment
• Has excellent communication skills and effectively coordinates work across different teams

Preferred:

• Industry experience in cell and gene therapy space.
• Experience with assay automation and assay high throughput techniques.
• Experience with sample management and ELN/LIMS systems.
• Experience working with pluripotent/hematopoietic stem cells.

Contract Length: 6 month with a chance of extension.

$32/hr. - $33/hr.
