Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst position is part of the Enterprise Business Systems team, supporting Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance Operations and Supply Chains. This position is responsible for supporting and enhancing Vertex’s Business Systems including Laboratory Information Management System, Electronic Notebook systems, Master Data management.

 

As Vertex works to build and enhance our existing systems, we are seeking an individual who will help us research, configure, test, and document training to issues identified by our business stakeholders. This individual will partner with other Subject Matter Experts, Data & Technology and Engagement groups, both internally and via third parties. They will help us ensure that we provide a system that meets the compliance needs demanded in a validated environment or non-GxP systems alongside requests from our Technical Operation Service and Control (TOSC) team and CMC team.

 

This is a 12 month contract.

On site.

Required experience in the biotechnology and/or pharma industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in day-to-day project and support work, including analysis, documentation, build/configuration, testing, integration, and reporting activities. 
  • Conduct systems analysis and build/configuration changes in accordance with industry Systems Lifecycle (SLC) and Vertex Change Management guidelines for a validated environment or non-GxP systems.
  • Implement product enhancements; understand and document business processes and requirements
  • Manage customer change requirements and the business change requests via a change management tool
  • Participate in reviewing, planning, testing and implementing regularly scheduled system upgrades
  • Develop collaborative relationships with IT peers, business Lead/SME, Quality Assurance, external partners, and various operational teams to help design, develop, and deliver digital system solutions that satisfy business requirements
  • Translate technically complex analysis into easily comprehensible terms
  • Ensure data integrity including quality, accuracy, security, and usability of employee data and related interfaces by adhering to established processes and controls
  • Leads QC, AD and PD departments in the build and/or revision, review and approval of master data, including but not limited to products, specifications, and methods in digital systems, per global and local system procedures.
  • Participate in the development and/or revision of site Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI) and Job Aid.
  • Work with the site digital system Administrator and Business Owner to maintain site and global requirements of digital systems.
  • Train end users on system use and first-line support for end-user for digital systems template and data entry issues.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or science discipline or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 1- 3 years relevant business systems in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possesses the knowledge and ability to apply basic scientific and regulatory principles to solve operational, as well as routine quality tasks.
  • Prefer general knowledge of cell and gene therapy methodologies such as Flow cytometry and cell-based functional, etc.
  • Working of LabVantage system, Benchling System, IDBS system and Dotmatics System
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Pay Range

$65-$70/hr
