Job Description

General Summary:

Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear and concise documentation detailing the processes, procedures, and systems involved in a company's supply chain, ensuring all stakeholders have accurate information to effectively manage inventory, logistics, and product flow. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain operations, technical writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and produce user-friendly documentation

 

This role is a contract role. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Write comprehensive operational procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for various supply chain activities like inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and quality control.
  • Create technical data specifications (TDSs) for raw materials/consumables used in the manufacturing process.
  • Develop user manuals for supply chain management systems, explaining features, functionalities, and navigation for employees using the software.
  • Design and write training materials for new employees on supply chain processes, including presentations, e-learning modules, and hands-on exercises.
  • Regularly update and revise existing documentation to reflect changes in processes, system updates, or regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with different departments to ensure documentation aligns with current practices and meets their specific needs.
  • Proofread and edit documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring adherence to company style guides and technical standards.
  • May include other supply chain related activities and reporting.

 

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong understanding of supply chain concepts, including inventory management, logistics, procurement, warehousing, distribution, and transportation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams to gather information, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Familiarity with authoring tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems (CMS) for document creation and version control.
  • Motivated to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment

 

Pay Range

$70-$80/HR
